Chongqing

Chongqing is a major central city in southwest China, a national central city and an important modern manufacturing base. Known as the Mountain City and River City, it is nestled between rolling hills and two major rivers, the Yangtze River and Jialing River, boasting stunning natural landscapes and unique urban scenery. As a famous historical and cultural city in China, Chongqing has a recorded history spanning over 3,000 years. It is the birthplace of the ancient Ba-Yu culture. The city's abbreviation "Yu" originates from the ancient name of the Jialing River. A thick fog often hangs over the city, giving it the well-known folk title of the "Capital of Fog".
